Privacy Policy

Nothing leaves your phone. This page exists to say so plainly.

Effective date: 10 May 2026  ·  Version 1.0

Professor OrdinaryAI does not collect, transmit, store, or share any personal data. The app runs entirely on your device.

What that actually means

Every part of Professor OrdinaryAI — the AI tutor, the structured Spanish lessons, the photo translation feature, and the chat — runs locally on your iPhone. Your conversations, photos, and progress never leave the device. There is no server, no account, no login, no analytics, and no third-party tracking of any kind.

The on-device AI model

Professor OrdinaryAI uses Google's open-source Gemma model, bundled directly into the app at install time. The model file (approximately 3 GB) lives in your iPhone's local storage. Nothing about your usage is sent back to Google, to us, or to any third party. The model does not "phone home."

Permissions the app may request

iOS may prompt you to grant access to certain features. We use them only as described, and only on your device:

You can revoke any of these permissions at any time in iOS Settings › Professor OrdinaryAI.

Data stored on your device

The app saves your lesson progress and onboarding preferences locally on your iPhone, in Apple's standard encrypted application storage. This data stays on your device. Deleting the app removes all of it permanently.

Children's privacy

Professor OrdinaryAI is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages. Because the app collects no data of any kind, it complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the EU GDPR, and similar regulations worldwide.

Third-party services

The app does not integrate with any third-party services, advertising networks, analytics platforms, or tracking SDKs. The only external services involved are Apple's own iOS frameworks, which run on-device.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, we will update the version number and effective date at the top of this page. Substantive changes — for example, if a future version of the app introduces optional cloud features — will be communicated clearly within the app before they take effect, and your consent will be requested before any data is collected.
